Successful communication requires sensitivity to the truth of the situation, contact with the other person and an understanding of one's own needs and feelings. This self-communication is the origin of Schulz von Thun's Inner Team model, a tool that plays a key role in all coaching programs and professional skills training at the Schulz von Thun Institute and far beyond.
The metaphor of an Inner Team, with inner voices as the personification of inner tendencies, allows us to analyze, understand and influence the "quarrelling bunch" that we sometimes encounter in ourselves and in others. A chorus of voices, some of which are impulsive, loud and energetic, and some of which are quiet and almost inaudible, but which nevertheless need to be taken into account in order to achieve a constructive impact.
Following the team metaphor, which states that similar basic dynamics as in external teams are at work in internal teams, the model makes it possible to use methods from conflict mediation or group building for internal conflicts, decision making or self-development.
The model, which depicts the personality of each individual in a multifaceted and multi-layered way, has long been used as an important and indispensable tool for
- differentiated self-awareness,
- sustainable good decision-making,
- personal development,
- clear and convincing communication.
This virtual impulse day in English is designed to introduce the model and give participants the opportunity to gain not only a deeper understanding of the model but also its possibilities for self-development and practical application in coaching and counseling.
